Dunboyne Clonee Cycling Club launches the 2011 Dunboyne Cycling Festival.
This will be centered in Dunboyne village on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of May and aims to encourage cyclists of all ages and levels to come and sample a range of challenging and fun events.
The An Post Ras Sporting Legends Tour will be a leisure event catering for cyclists of all abilities with the option of 3 routes. The 120Km route will appeal to the experienced cyclist, taking them to the heart of Meath countryside. There will also be a 60Km course as well as a 10Km Family route. Taking part in all events will be our sporting legends. From ex Rás winners, Olympic medalists to GAA stars, our Sporting legends will be turning out in force to support the event. So far Eamonn Coughlan Athletics World Champion, Nick O Hare Olympic Swimmer, Sean Boylan Meath Football Manager and Shay O Hanlon 4 times winner of the Ras Tailteann will all be in Dunboyne.
A French Market based in the village square will bring a Continental atmosphere to the village. In addition the Festival will encompass a Cycling Expo. This promises to be the biggest Cycling Expos nationally, showcasing one of the largest selections of bicycles and other sporting equipment. Music and Entertainment will be provided throughout the weekend.
