The Tour of Kildare started in 2001 with about 20 cyclists taking part and is now one of the major leisure events of the cycling calendar. In 2008 it was renamed The Martin Earley Tour of Kidare and  offered participants  the opportunity to cycle with one of Ireland’s most successful cyclists, Giro d’Italia and Tour de France stage winner Martin Earley.

Martin has again generously donated his time to host this year’s event and will no doubt be seen cruising along with one of the front groups.

The numbers participating have grown steadily over the years with 600 signing on last year.

There are three distances again this year: 100Kms, 50Kms and 20Kms.

Sign on for the 100km and 50km will open at 8.30 am for a 10am start while the 20km family cycle starts at 12 noon.

The day will finish with music and a well deserved barbeque for all the participants.
We hope to still have all the factors that have helped make the Tour of Kildare a success such as good mechanical backup provided this year by EUROCYCLES, broom wagon and medical support, a friendly atmosphere and the now traditional burger when you finish at the Naas Court Hotel. Eurocycles have also generously donated a Gents Raleigh Pioneer Urban 1 Bicycle and everyone who signs up online and on the day will be entered into a draw to win this prize.
