We had hills week before last, so legs should be ready now for a long flat. Weather has turned for the finest so a good day is in prospect. Naas to Kildare is a good settler and turning for Nurney is not the usual, but interesting none the less. We should have rolled over many times by then and had a good natter to each other.

A nice little drag over to Monasterevin, where some may be tempted to turn for home, but resist , to view the pleasantries of Portarlington. Turning for home (sort of!) into Rathangan and onward to Allenwood and Prosperous and back to Naas.
For those seeking an early lunch at home in the garden, a turn off in Monasterevin would be the best diversion. Giving a nice upward drag to Kildare and the Curragh and home. That would give about 60km under the belt and plenty of time to start that bikers tan on the legs.
For everyone…. we have moved into the realm of tanned legs and arms and faces, and any other parts you might want to expose to the elements… so bring sun cream. (Cant believe im saying that!!…Suncream!!!). Make sure your well hydrated and have cash enough to top up liquid on the road if necessary as we go.
As usual… we find out who is taking the short route, before we begin! No one gets left behind! This is a LEISURE CYCLE first and foremost! No heroics, no haring off the front and keep an eye out for anyone falling off the back. REMEMBER! IF THE CONVERSATION BEHIND YOU STOPS….YOUR GOING TOO HARD…SLOW DOWN!
And…. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!
Not sure if Ill be there myself cause I have ‘other fish to fry’. But you never know. Enjoy the trip
