TDF 2015 a great success due to the hardworking committee who took responsibility for this event. As the event co-ordinatorI wish to express my appreciation to all who gave encouragement and gave of their time.NCC were responsible for the ‘cycle’ part and we did ourselves proud.Comments from those hardy cyclists who participated in the event acknowledged and praised the signage, marshaling, route marking, catering , ambulance support,Garda support, mechanical back and the broom wagons who combined to make it a memorable event.

The catering back up, Sapling committee and friends, served the food and soup, sandwiches and sympathy at food stops, and at Finlay Ford Naas prior to the start and after the event contributed to the event by their hospitality and good humour.

The range and number of sponsors who provided prizes, services and goods was the highest ever, credit to them all.It was heartening to see so many members give of their time, and encouraging to see many of our newer members getting involved.

There is a danger that in thanking all I may exclude somebody, hence I haven’t named individuals , you all know who you are.Lance Connolly, however, deserves mention.Working in the background preparing the many reports and safety statements he ensured that all the necessary bodies were advised. In addition he took responsibility for the road markings and positioning the road signs.Put simply , without Lance it wouldn’t have been the great success it was.

Finally thanks to all Cyclists & NCC, we raised €9000 to fund the purchase of hi-tec educational aids for the Sapling School in Kill..

Thanks
