This coming Sunday we will be mixing a couple of routes. Courtesy of Tom O Hanlon.

Via Prosperous we are heading to Knockanally and the Mast with coffee in Kilcock or Maynooth. Next port of call is Celbridge and rathcoole before we start the main climbing of the day to Kilteel and down to Eadestown and home.

Weather from this distance looks ok for Sunday but we will as always watch and review as necessary.

Last Sunday saw, what has been described as ‘exuberance’ in the group. Which left a few off the back and isolated on the final run in from Boston. Its good to see such good progress in fitness levels with a lot of C Group. A tribute to the club spinning classes I would hazard a guess. And its good to see that this early in the year, we can push the envelope of our charter towards it maximum. I does however, tend to leave some of us drifting off the back at times and we need to be conscious of that. The problem is exacerbated when, by dint of numbers, we are forced to split the group into two. That said,  I personally, would not wish to restrict anyone’s need to’ push it out’. In the final analysis, its everyones ambition to push themselves to the limit of their ability on the Sunday spin and that’s a good thing. Where that leaves ‘no one gets left behind’? I’m not sure! Maybe a point for discussion over a few pints some evening!

Did someone say ‘Last orders’?

Bring your bike and the other cafootraments! And given the dirty roads, 2 tubes and a repair kit might be a prudent option. Ensure proper inflation before you leave should give us all peace of mind.

Enjoy the ride and come home safe.

See you Sunday
