Ian Richardson (UCD fitzcycles.ie) defended the TT title he won in Kilcullen last year with another  powerful display in blustery but warm conditions today. The event sponsored by McCormacks bar in Naas included a strong field on the start line  containing many top testers looking ahead to the National Championships in 13 days.

His time of  48minutes 56 seconds for the difficult 38.3km test was 1:20 secs better than Con McDunphy from  Lucan and 1:46 ahead of Stamullen’s Cian Delaney. Eoin Whelan (Seven Springs) took 4 th ahead of A2  rider Kieran Regan from St Tiernans in 5th. Regan’s team mate, William McCormack was best  unplaced A2, Cillian Moffatt (unattached) was best A3 while Michael Reilly from CKR CC was best A4.  Eve McCrystal (Garda CC) posted a time of 56:28 to be best of the women.

Martin Deevy was the  fastest Naas rider while Shane Walsh from Clonard RC took the prize for the Limited Licenced Riders.
