A big weekend for the racing group once again, with the Natonal Hill Climb Championship in Galway, The Fixx Supercross in Grange Castle plus our own spin closer to home.
Martin Deevy heads west to Galway to contest the National Hillclimb – his first national championship in club colours. Martin has trained hard all through 2017 and has established himself as the club’s top performer in the M50 category – particularly in the power events like the TT and the Hill Climb. The 1.8km route has an average of just over 6% but with pitches of 19% it will prove a real test – all in the club wish him well in his quest for a medal.

Up in Grange Castle, a good contingent of Naas riders have entered RD.2 of the Fixx Supercross Cup. Action for underage gets under way at 10 am (enter on the day;) women at 11am, the B race at 12 midday while the elite “A” race is underway at 1.30.
Our own Mark Yandle is closely involved with the organisation of this great race series for cyclocross – spectators and families are more than welcome to watch what should be a great day of racing in the mud! (Details below)

At home on Sunday we will run a 2.5 hr route, mostly flat out towards Allen, Kildare, the Paddy Flanagan Circuit, Nurney, Fontstown and home via Narraghmore and Kilcullen. Paul Seery will lead what should be a steady and easy going spin as we transition into the autumn/winter endurance training phase.
Wherever you are this Sunday, enjoy your cycling. The long winter days are still yet to come.
