We have competitors in Kilmessan and Dungarvan this Sunday; so best of luck lads. Hoping to build on the good form of Martin Deevy in Carlow last weekend. And don’t forget the clocks go forward an hour!
Week 10 of our training and this week we do 72km with nearly 700m climbing; 15km of flat before the hard work begins. It is mostly 1-3 minute sharp climbing efforts rather than any really long climbs. We head north-east into the cool breeze before taking in 3 loops, including the lakes. At all times we are within about 20km of Naas. These sharp efforts are good to build leg-strength out of the saddle. Will re-group as necessary and the final 12km is mostly downhill. Hope to have a good number training as the weather should be very nice at last.
