Posting routes is easy when your not actually going to be doing them yourself!
Starting the route with a little bit of leg stretching out by Punchestown on the Blessington road (havent been up that little fecker at Quinns for ages). Up by Walshestown and the easy way to Ballymore (dont let Hugh bully you into doing the savage bit!). Then Baltinglass and Castledermot. Turning for Narraghmore and Kilcullenback to Ballymore and home.
770m of climbing. Nothing too strenuous. Coffee in Baltinglass.
Weather, at this remove , looks reasonable if a bit cooler than of late.
The Ballymore road, on the way back, does not really lend itself to eyeballs out running. But no doubt some will try to make it so. These fast finishes, while exhilerating and inviting, are extremely dangerous on some approaches. This being one of those approaches people should exercise extreme caution and cool heads should prevail. Vice Captains and experienced C Group riders should council restraint and safety at all times more particularly when the blood is up!
We have a good record in this group. Lets keep it untarnished.
Enjoy the trip and come home safe.
