Still Winter guys and Sunday is giving damp with a westerly wind
Last few spins have been split groups because of our numbers and this looks like it could be a trend.
With this in mind and to adequately cope wth the numbers, Félim Gibbons has rejoined our group of vice captains, making us 4 in number. Should we split the C Group we will have 2 per group, making it a more coherent unit. There will be no “fast group” and no “slower group”. We will maintain our principle of ‘no one gets left behind’ and every effort will be made to protect the cohesion in the C Group.
We will assess numbers and agree split at the courthouse before we leave and agree coffee stop and regroup points if required. Regrouping or not will be dictated by the weather on the day. But either way , the agreed coffee stop will be only coffee stop. Vice captains will be the voice on the road and should be deferred to always as group leaders. We would prefer if riders integrate at the stops and swap groups as they wish. It is incumbent on everyone to assist in lead out and rollovers and use their strength to ensure that we stay together. Not to jump off the front and put the rest of us under pressure.
Our aim is for social cycling. Sunday spin is not a training ride. Keep that for during the week among consenting adults!
Don’t forget the usual stuff, money, water, spares and properly inflated tyres.
Enjoy the rides. See you all on Sunday
